RWC provides tutoring services to homeschool, public and private school students and their families. I focus on students with learning disabilities. I currently have students in upper elementary-college level. I work with each student and their parents / guardians not only on subject area remediation, but with helping the student know himself or herself as a learner as well. I empower my students to figure out what study strategies work for the, to be self-advocates with their teachers and instructors, and to implement learning methods that work best for them.

About Maureen:

I studied English Language and Literature at Temple University. After graduation, I decided to take teacher certification classes. Upon receiving my certification, I taught English on the secondary level in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. During that time I worked for after school credit recovery programs and homebound students. I became passionate about one-on-one instruction after seeing the rapid progress my students made, and the confidence they gained as a result! I stayed tutoring on my own or with tutoring establishments, such as Sylvan Learning. At Sylvan, I taught the SAT program, study skills, speed reading and reading remediation. After working several seasons in the National Park Service, I worked a season at Mammoth Cave and fell in love with the beauty of the area and the community. I have worked full-time as a tutor in Bowling Green since 2018. In 2018, I started Read Write Connect, LLC and opened an office in Downtown Bowling Green. I love walking around Fountain Square and frequently spend my “off” hours doing nature photography.
